Progressive education also invites and embraces independent thinking and independent learners. At Compass Education, we believe the whole child must be taught in the areas of core values, conflict resolution, community service, and the disciplines. Studies should stimulate the mind, and body with the outcome being in a child’s understanding of the sciences, humanities, the arts, and physical education, including the passion for sports. We believe great schooling not only influences the progress of academics, but also leads students to become civil-minded citizens – respectful of themselves, of those around them and of their education.

As student educational coaches, we guide middle and high school students to learn how to navigate school and their peers, to be their own advocate for their own learning, and to take charge in designing their future. We help students identify their own strengths and challenges, while focusing on their accomplishments and being insightful of what is needed to meet their goals.

At Compass Education, our mission succeeds when students make the connection and recognize how to tap into their prior knowledge and experiences to acquire a new level of comprehensive solutions to new problems in unique and meaningful ways. Our vision in educating our future leaders of the world is to have all of our children be independent and flexible thinkers, have curious minds, ask valuable questions, and be savvy navigators of the world in which they live.
